Jillian Barrett is an accomplished professional with a broad range of experience in management, military service, and technical design. After graduating from Winters High School in 1997, she took on a leadership role at the Patton State Hospital Canteen in Patton, California. As a manager, she was responsible for purchasing products for inmates in strict adherence to institutional policies, procedures, and officer safety regulations.
This position honed her skills in operational management and regulatory compliance, and demonstrated her ability to navigate complex environments while ensuring smooth operations. Following her time at Patton, Jillian returned to her hometown of Winters, where she worked at Lester Farms Bakery before embarking on a new path of service to her country.
In May 2001, Jillian enlisted in the United States Army, and in November 2003, she was deployed to the Iraq Theatre on active duty. During her military service, she held various critical roles, including communication officer, where she ensured the safety of convoys using GPS technology and coordinated combat responses. Her duties also extended to guarding military base perimeters and driving Palletized Load System (PLS) vehicles to transport essential supplies—such as food, water, ammunition, and weapons—to military bases across the region.
Throughout her deployment, Jillian was involved in numerous live combat situations, serving as a driver, passenger guard, and vehicle roof gunner. Her military experience solidified her ability to perform under pressure and sharpened her leadership, logistics, and tactical skills.
After returning from Iraq, Jillian pursued her college education, with a vision of transitioning into the architectural field. She is now focused on acquiring a position as a Building Information Modeling (BIM) Specialist, working closely with architects to design efficient, cost-effective structures. Her goal is to contribute to innovative solutions that meet the needs of clients while respecting budget constraints and promoting community well-being.
Jillian is passionate about finding the right balance between economic feasibility and architectural excellence, and she is eager to take on the challenge of advancing forward-thinking, practical designs that benefit clients, employees, and the broader community.
